Housing Development in Conservation Area – Winteringham
Works have started on the conversion of a much loved local landmark in Winteringham. The Ferry Boat Inn, once a thriving Public House, became a victim of the times and was forced to shut. Facing the prospect of demolition, local restaurateur Colin McGurran bought the site and appointed local Conservation Area specialists, keystonearchitecture
, to come up with a development which benefitted the village with much needed affordable housing, whilst maintaining the original pub frontage.
The scheme, which took some time to refine to the satisfaction of the Planners and Local Residents, was eventually Approved in the summer of 2014, with works starting on site shortly after.
